Unified Messaging
Unified Messaging consolidates a user’s multiple forms of messages into a single source for retrieval, review and response. Via the company LAN, an e-mail account becomes the source for all messages supported by the server, regardless of message type – voice mail, e-mail, fax and video.
Unified Messaging allows messages to be displayed, played and viewed based on the capabilities of the application providing the service. Retrieving a message (image, e-mail or video) is quick and simple – double click and the LAN decides which program to use to open it. Voice mail may be accessed via computer speakers. OCR capability can convert faxes into images that can be viewed on screen or combined with text-to-speech technology to be read to you. All messages are then saved to the server.
Voice and data travel over the same network, eliminating the need to create and maintain separate networks. Additional savings can be realized through more efficient message management by both mobile and on-site employees by consolidating message access to a single SOURCE.
